Red Door Hunger Ministry
"FOR I WAS HUNGRY AND YOU GAVE ME FOOD..." (MATT. 25:35)
Note: Due to ongoing concern over the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Red Door Jubilee Center will continue to serve the neighborhood through our food pantry and Community Supper with the following adjustments to our normal procedure until further notice:
- Our food pantry will remain open on Mondays from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. and on Thursdays from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. In order to reduce the amount of person-to-person contact in our pantry, those needing assistance should come to the door of Fountain House (38 N. Fountain St.) to receive pre-bagged groceries.
- For our monthly Community Supper, meals will be boxed in advance and distributed as "take-out" at the door of the church (101 N. Fountain St.).
Red Door operates a neighborhood food pantry for residents of Downtown Cape Girardeau with support from the community, as well as the SEMO Food Bank. The pantry is located at our business office (38 N. Fountain Street.), and is open every Monday from 10 – 11 a.m., and every Thursday from 10 – 11:30 a.m.
The Red Door Food Pantry serves the immediate neighborhood surrounding Christ Episcopal Church. Due to our limited resources, we are only able to provide groceries for those who live within a one-mile radius of 101 N. Fountain Street. Please bring a photo I.D. with you in order to request assistance from the pantry.
Red Door also provides a free meal the last Sunday of each month at 4:30 p.m. in the CEC Parish Hall (101 N. Fountain Street). The meal is open to the entire community, and is home-cooked by a team of local churches, restaurants, and volunteers who give their time and energy to bring everyone together. To find out how you can get involved with Hunger Ministries at Red Door as a volunteer, call the church office at (573) 335-2997, or email CEC Ministry Intern Joshua Smith.
